2018: We Need You! Volunteers for Sausage Sizzles and Pizza Lunches

Planning is under way for next year’s exciting line-up of fundraising events. We’ve had a fantastic year (thanks to our wonderful parent/whānau community) and want to keep the good times rolling. We’ll be publishing the 2018 fundraising calendar in the New Year - a mix of tried and true favourites plus maybe one or two new events.

Can you help? The lunchtime Sausage Sizzle and Pizza Lunches are very popular but we need a refresh of volunteers. Are you available on some Tuesdays or Wednesdays to help with either of these? Let us know, so we can hit the ground running in Term One! Please contact your friendly Parent Net rep via parentnet@worserbay.school.nz.

We are thrilled to have Sonja Schroeder joining Jackie Ross in Team ParentNet. Thanks so much, Sonja.

Many festive thanks!

Stationery 2018

Our online ordering of students’ stationery has been very successful, so we have teamed up with OfficeMax MySchool again for 2018! During 2017 we were rewarded with over $1000 because of your support ordering stationery through OfficeMax. These rewards went towards resources and art materials the students used to create amazing pieces of art displayed in our 2017 WBS Arts Celebration.

There are also great benefits for you:
  • You receive competitive prices direct from the supplier.
  • Save time by avoiding busy retail stores.
  • Free delivery on orders over $46.00.
  • Order early and have plenty of time to cover your books.
  • Your child will start the year with the correct supplies.
  • Every dollar spent with OfficeMax MySchool will earn us School Rewards.
  • So, for 2018, you can order online at www.myschool.co.nz/worserbay using your credit card. Simply select your child's Year Group and follow the instructions on the website. Website orders over $46.00 qualify for free delivery.
Delivery must be to your home or place of work – not to the school. You can also ring your order through and pick it up from OfficeMax at an agreed time that works for you.

To order by mail order and/or pay by cheque, all you have to do is go to www.myschool.co.nz and, when you get to the checkout, click on the Mail Order Form button. This will build a customised mail order form for you to print. Stationery lists will be online by Monday 11 December, and everything on the list is a must for 2018 .

There are additional products available, that’s up to you. If your child already has a book bag and pencil case, this does not require purchasing again. Your child may have a few books left over that you can also remove from the list. If your child is Year 4, 5 or 6 and already has a pair of headphones at home that they can bring to use at school, there is no need to purchase those.

Please note:
  • Orders can be placed from Monday 11 December.
  • Orders must be received by Office Max prior to Wednesday 10 January to guarantee delivery before school starts.
Please also note:
Due to nationwide unprecedented demand we have been advised that some books from a new range on our Stationery Lists are running out fast with new stock arriving late February. Ordering early may mean you receive your full order but no guarantees. If you receive notification of a back order, please don't worry as we will make do with what stationery kids have.

This year our stationery drop off time is Tuesday 30 January from 9.00am - 10.00am, so you can pop in, if you would like to, say “hi”, catch up on holidays and get the books in the right place. Teachers will be in a meeting from 10.00am, so please stick tightly to this timeframe.

A Note from the Office

School Holidays
School finishes at 1pm on Tuesday 19 December 2017 and starts back on Wednesday 31 January 2018 at 8.55am.

Stationery Drop-off date is Tuesday 30 January between 9am and 10am.

School Driveway
Please do not use the bottom of the school driveway as a drop off zone. The yellow lines are there for a reason. We have had a couple of reports of near misses on the crossing due to cars pulling in and stopping there. Please help keep our children safe.

Term Dates for 2017 and 2018 can be found on our website together with our
 Calendar of upcoming events.
