The traditional African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” has been widely quoted in education for many years. In an increasingly complex world, this concept of the village, or rather 'our village', is increasingly important if we are to provide the children with the challenges and opportunities they need to prepare them well for the future.

Many past parents of children who are now at Intermediate and High School, in fact again just yesterday, provide this feedback, "I can't tell you how well Worser Bay prepared my children for the next steps, they are thriving." (or words to that effect!)

This is thanks to 'our village'. Our village of:
  • ParentNet - workers
  • Morning tea providers
  • Transporters
  • Sports coaches/managers
  • Classroom volunteers
  • Camp volunteers
  • Sleepover volunteers
  • Trip volunteers
  • Event volunteers
  • Sausage sizzlers
  • Pizza makers
  • Ceilidh organisers
  • Disco organisers
  • Guest 'speakers' and parent mentors
  • Gardeners
  • Ideas people
  • Thinkers and thankers!
  • Designers/Architects
  • Fixers and do-ers
  • People who look out for others in need....and, of course,
  • The amazing Fair Team and all the myriad of helpers involved in the biggest fundraiser of the year. This is a wonderful community event that is coming up very fast - 2 weeks' time! Please put your hand up if you haven't already ....... see the ParentNet email out this week asking for more assistance - SUNDAY 13 NOVEMBER - 11 AM - 2 PM

INVITATION:  To thank you all for your part in 'raising our children' and being part of this village, please come along to the Chocolate Fish Cafe, Shelley Bay.

Date:    Friday, 18 November
Time:   5.00 - 6.30 pm

This is a 'family friendly' event. The Board will supply platters for adults. Drinks for adults and and drinks/food for children can be purchased by parents. If it's fine, it will be magic. Plenty of room for children to play, parents to mingle and a great opportunity for us to thank you for your energy!

We had a wonderful turn out and good fun last year - so come along!
