Netballers

Our children love giving it a go, physical education and general fitness are highly valued at our school. As well as daily fitness and games, our PE programme caters for all ages and stages. We have a range of sports teams that regularly compete outside of school and we embrace interschool competitions. We utilise our beach for athletics, cross country and celebrating the outdoors - we head down there as often as we can. Swimming instruction is held at the Kilbirnie Aquatic Centre in Term 4 of each year. Teachers and parents work together to provide dedicated coaching and support.

We received this great feedback from a sports event:

“I must say that the thing that blew me away the most on Sunday was the Worser Bay students' attitude. I was helping out with the games and some year 3 and 4s from our school really shone. They organised their teams (including older children from different schools), they didn't whine to be in the same team as their friends and they encouraged the younger children to have a go. Thanks for encouraging, directing and allowing that culture to grow, so it is now within and without the school.”

In 2009 we undertook an extensive consultation involving teachers, parents and students in a range of data gathering methods, from surveys to Parent evenings to ascertain priorities for the teaching and learning of Health at Worser Bay School. Click the link below for the results.
