Moving through the School

Tautoru

SophieIn the transition class of Tautoru Iti, children are provided with the opportunity to work at their own pace on early literacy and numeracy skills. The emphasis is on settling into life at school, making friends and developing confidence.

ScottAs children move through Tautoru, into Year 1 and 2, they are developing greater independence. They help to plan the class programme and are able to describe what they have been learning. Children are supported to set their own learning goals and encouraged to become increasingly independent.

Mahutonga and Matariki

In Mahutonga and Matariki, Years 4, 5 and 6, children are very confident with their place in the school and have developed close friendships. These years provide a wonderful opportunity for them to explore and take greater risks with their learning as they move towards intermediate.
