If you were in Assembly last Friday, you will have heard me sharing what a great, proud week we had. It was truly the gift that kept on giving!

We had terrific feedback about our Positive Education / Wellbeing Programme from a 'specialist on Sabbatical' from the States - she walked through, observed, interviewed some children......

The Open Evening at Evans Bay Intermediate School (EBIS), our Alumni were 'all over the evening', running about, sharing and showing the Year 6s what is what at Intermediate. Our children certainly know how to put their hand up for opportunities - we hear that quite frequently - across all Learning Areas from the Sciences to the Arts, Leadership and Sporting Endeavours.

We had a teacher from another school visit too. They emailed immediately after "I just wanted to let you know that I came away from Worser Bay School this afternoon feeling energised and inspired. ......It was refreshing to be in a space that so clearly 'lives' their school values ..............."

Mid week was a big-gy - Eastern Zones Swimming and the Wellington Orchestra Festival.

The feedback from Eastern Zones Swimming was tremendous - positive, supportive and 'can do':

"Our children gave their best and showed great support for each other!"

"It was pretty tough competition - but I gave it a go."

"I wasn't expecting it to be so hard - but I didn't give up."

The Wellington Orchestra Festival was also tremendous. We had a large group there - per capita - what discipline, what teamwork and what Worser Bay role models. Thanks, also, to Kirsten and parent helpers on the day.... music's link to learning and emotion cannot be underestimated!!

"They were going to pull out the week beforehand as the lead up was a lot of work and they found it hard. I'm pleased they didn't as the satisfaction with the end result was amazing."

"I loved being part of a massive orchestra. It was so cool."

"I really want to do it again next year."

"I was one of the youngest, I'm only Year 3!"

I think there was great learning last week that some things are actually hard work, and hard work can get you places! (Well, I hope that was some of the learning!)

With Student Led Conferences achieved, we are all now full steam ahead towards the Arts Celebration. Never dull here!

Arts Celebration

See you there one evening (or both, if you are super keen!)
