We pride ourselves on allowing every child to shine and that's why they all, 100% of the darlings experienced a whole heap of learning and growing leading up to the Arts Celebration and then all got on the 'stage' without fuss - showing us what an inclusive community school can do. This Arts Celebration was about them, their voice, their ideas...... supported and, in our school speak, 'scaffolded' by the staff.
I use the word staff as also all inclusive. This was a full team effort - all hands on deck, various 'other halves' to be found up ladders, behind cameras and on top of classrooms. Comms from the teachers and office whirring away...... and that’s not the only whirring to be heard.
The parents - wow - the costume designers, the sewers, the dressers..... the giving of time, energy and spirits. This is the 'do good - feel good' factor we desire!
If you can't tell by now, I'm on a bit of a natural high here as I type! I reflected on our "What Does Success Look Like for Our Worser Bay Children?"
So much of this document was located in full view this week - more overtly than it may sometimes be. If you have joined the school more recently or you need a refresh - you may like to read the full document again here.
At our school, there is not a child being cast as a 'tree' or a 'rock' on that stage. Thank goodness - it's their ideas, their voice and ………. their time! What a feeling!!
