Campfire - we LOVE campfire..... HIIIYAAAAA!

This is the refrain........ so, if you want to hear it, say a word that starts with a 'c', has an 'amp' and ends in 'fire' and that is what you will get!

Now, apparently this is a 'Worser Bay thing' that's been handed down through the years, from year group to year group, from one experience to the next. The Camp instructors were asking "What is this thing they do? No other school does this......!" Welcome to Worser Bay. (I wonder if they then broke out into the "Catfood - we love catfood" song?!)

Last Friday at Karakia, we had our Year 4s, who had been at Camp the day before, share 'this thing' with the Juniors, so, now it's out there, who knows when it may appear at home. A bit like the newly reintroduced jump jam routine. (Thanks, Carl!)

So, Camp will be back on the agenda in just a few months - back to March in 2023. We are so fortunate to have been able to find another date this year and the chill in the air, I'm convinced, meant better sleep for the teachers as the warmth of the sleeping bag definitely drove earlier to bed routines for all! Huge appreciation to John, Jenny, Hayley, Steph and parents, Jess, Helen, Nancy and Ash, for the extra hours - days and nights - and, of course, the responsibility you have whilst you are out there.

To Cloe and Carl and parent help, Kirsten, for the bus and day support, and Jess for coming out to Campfire and dragging and driving Carl away from the good time back to home turf!

This is an experience our children will not forget. They will have long, tall, wide and short stories for a very long time.... some of which will, no doubt, filter down and become another one of those 'Worser Bay things'.

We have more 'rituals' coming up next week with the Student Led Conferences. (Please make sure you have booked on the School Interviews website.) And 2 evenings of Arts Celebration on Tuesday 27 & Wednesday 28 September, 6-7pm.

Then.... we will be ending the term with hopefully a fun night out for you at the QUIZ NIGHT. Bring friends, family, neighbours, book a ticket or a table and see Term 3 out with a bit of social activity. You deserve it! (Plus, it's a great little fundraiser for the school.)
