At the end of Fair Day, I got home and couldn't stop thinking about all of the people I had spoken to - so many 'teenagers' and a large number of past parents were out in force. The resounding comment "We have been looking forward to this so much!" As we all were after a 3 year hiatus! When teenagers are overheard saying "Well, for a School Fair, it was pretty good!" So that's saying something!
So, whilst, of course, it's about raining funds, the fun in funds also has to take centre stage. I overheard many new connections being made between you, as newer parents to the school and thoughts already floating about for 2023. Knowing that our unflappable Nancy won't be chief cheerleader next year, we have some thinking to do so that we can build on the What Went Well from this year and alleviate the pressure that can come with putting on such a great show!
Nancy and I have had a couple of chats and thoughts of how to build a wider 'fundraising team' where the separate streams of sossies, pizzas, etc, can all fit within and and grow a larger 'friends group/support network', if you like.
With time of the essence between now and the end of the year, if you have any thoughts over the next week, please find me on top crossing after school or floating around the grounds. As I got reminded at the Fair, "I knew you were around here somewhere as I could hear you a mile away!" It's funny to think my junior primary reports said, "Judith is a quiet, shy, serious child". Hmmmmmmmm, interesting!
