Wasn't the Friday Music Jam just good fun and what a stunning evening it was! The moon was full, the air was still and it was such a treat to hear from our School Orchestra and a range of past pupils and friends..... and Elvis and Annie!

Thanks for your lovely feedback about the evening - I agree, we have missed so many of these opportunities to just have some fun together over the last couple of years. I also mentioned at Karakia on Monday, I was impressed with the way our children handled themselves - both inside and outside - not even a need for a plaster to my knowledge!

This morning we had our 8th Assembly in 2½ years! I'll stop the counting now but, it's not until we brought the regular fortnightly event back, did we realise how much we have missed them. Always an opportunity to get a glimpse into the richness of learning experiences we provide, a chance for children of all ages to build confidence in public speaking and usually a giggle or two to keep us on our toes and energy high for the final 'school' day of the week. It's also a great opportunity for parents to make connections and build relationships with other parents - which is also what being a community school is all about.

This connection is really important when we seek support for various events throughout the year. Of course, we can finally bring the Worser Bay School Community Fair back to the calendar this year after a hiatus for a couple of years. It's the big ticket item and the one where we need all hands on deck AND it's a heap of fun and totally reflects our 'feel good and do good' mantra of contributing to something bigger.

This morning we had a School Fair chat after Assembly. This is a great event in our school calendar, and especially great this year as we celebrate being 125 - the oldest school on the Peninsula!

The School Fair is the event that really requires all hands on deck - so you will be hearing a lot more as we build up to Sunday 13 November. In the meantime, with thoughts, ideas, offers of help or questions, please either fill out this form or email parentnet@worserbay.school.nz.
