Our Worser Bay Alumni are putting their hands up, accepting opportunities, challenges and responsibilities and getting 'stuck in' to life at Evans Bay Intermediate (EBIS).
About once a month, I hear reports of "Jude, so you know that so many Worser Bay kids are......" "Did you hear about how many Worser Bay kids are....." "It's obvious that the Worser Bay kids are......", and the like.
I love hearing about how our children are doing and totally love the fact that they aren't afraid to give things a go - push themselves out of their comfort zones and try something new. This is what we have been trying to instil for 6 years (plus Rising 5s!), and often it's not fully realised until they get older - but always so reassuring and heartwarming to hear about.
I'm talking sports, a variety of leadership roles, the range of academic, the arts... the whole.
Let's talk Science! Just last week I heard the news that our Year 7 and 8s had really excelled in the recent Science Fair.
Stepping up, growing up, becoming independent as they very soon head off to the big wide world of Secondary - the next stepping stone. I'm certain our foundation in Positive Education really gives them quality resilience building tools to lean on - having high academic expectations, great experiences at EBIS and their chosen Secondaries…. along with caring and supportive whānau who celebrate them for them and value learning - as well as mistake making!
Thank you for helping us to grow great Worser Bay School kids!
