What a fantastic term we are having. We are focused both on the future and pulling all of the data from the present. There is a lot going on as per usual!
Thanks to those of you that contributed to the large pieces of brown paper adorning the staffroom a while back. I thought it may be useful for you all to see what whānau contributed verbatim.
This thinking is not too far from what we had in the strategy but the word that comes to mind is 'stronger'. From this we have redeveloped the strategy and are in the midst of putting the final touches on it. The big reveal isn't too far off!
In the midst of sweeping curriculum change at a national level it is great to have certainty within the local context. This supports teachers to develop their programmes for 2026 - it provides the vision for them to work towards.
Of course we have our stunning local curriculum (which also captivated the ERO team when they visited) You can find the link here:
Both the strategy and the local curriculum provide the context and the magic.
The national curriculum provides the content, structure and the expectations for age.
There are also new assessment tools on the horizon but we don't know what... yet.
We are fortunate to have a parent community who understands what we do, why we do it, and together we are very capable of achieving great results. Thank you for your input into the direction, it's both reassuring and grounded!
