4 February 2022

What a delight to hear the children’s giggles in and around the school once more. When I am here on my own, it’s serene and I have a good opportunity to appreciate the uniqueness and beauty of our place. When it’s Staff Only - it’s always full on…. deep and meaningful learning sessions mixed with lightness of spirit and good food. But it’s when you and your children are back that makes it a school and a hub of connections and support, a community.

So - whilst it is a little different right now and some of the giggles are muffled by masks, from the minute the children walked through the gate most of them just slotted in and got on with it. I had some trepidation, I wasn’t sure, but ever optimistic, how they would feel at ‘their second home!’ Tick, we did it! Ngā mihi - we thank you for your roles and support with the back to school 2022 and are so looking forward to what we can accomplish together.

In this brief Newsnote, we are giving you the new what’s on and what’s not as we know it right now. We are imagining this will be a bit of a constant over the next while as the lay of the land of settings may change…. and so will we. I said to the staff on Wednesday - this is the time we stand strong and bend with the wind with great flexibility all at once!
