Kia ora koutou,
Nau mai, haere mai
A big, warm, enveloping welcome back to you all. Albert Camus once said, "In the depths of winter, I found within myself an invincible summer." After hearing some of our whānau lamenting about the weather over the break, that quote immediately came to mind! That summer sun is in there somewhere, and hopefully, it will arrive to stay at our place soon. In the meantime, we have plenty of action planned to keep us glowing.
You will have likely noticed the incredible thought and energy our teachers put into class design over the break; our programmes were rolling from 8:55am Wednesday. While I’ve heard this short back-to-school week described in the media as a "soft start," I see it differently. I think of it as a "let’s get stuck in" two-day test to see what’s working and what adjustments we might need before our first full week. The smiles from the children clearly demonstrated that plenty was already en pointe.
There is a lot on the calendar over the next few weeks—some items are purely social, some chatty, some informative, and some focused on making and doing. Our aim is to find as many valuable opportunities as we can to keep building our partnership and delivering excellent outcomes for our tamariki. See our Dates to Diary for our upcoming events.
As the ever-insightful Simon Sinek says: "A community is a group of people who agree to grow together."
Let’s do this
Welcome to 2026!
