Wow, it's all go, isn't it? When I asked the staff last week what's gone well in the first few days, the common feeling was that we had hit Term 2 running and very well prepared, which is a great feeling.

From this term, I have been appointed to the role of Lead Principal for our Kāhui Ako for a 2 year contract. The intent of our 13 schools working closely together is to strengthen practices and learn from each other, rather than reinventing things in our own bubble. So it will keep me well out of mischief!!

The 13 schools are:

Worser Bay, Seatoun, Miramar North, Miramar Central, Miramar Christian, Kahurangi, Hataitai, Lyall Bay, Roseneath, Kilbirnie, Evans Bay Intermediate, Rongotai College, Wellington East Girls College.

Additionally, Suzanne has been reappointed for another 2 years to one of the Across School Lead Teachers (currently 3 and wanting 5!) and John is one of the Within School Leads (27 in total). So, quite a team!

It's wonderful that our school is recognised as doing great things out there, and John, Suzanne and I have plenty to contribute to the collective intelligence in the Eastern parts of our city!

As I type at the final minute before Carolyn pushes 'Send', I'm imagining all of the parents, children and John are now out from the overnight tramp in the bush........ certainly hoping so! It's these experiences children never forget. Especially great for developing GRIT..... all that mud! Hope the hot shower did the trick!
