Kia ora e te whānau
We roll from one event to another at the moment.......! We tend to have this very funny thing in education where time is measured in weeks rather than dates. I'll often ask "when is that again?"
"Oh, that's Term 4, Week 8."
"Please.......... someone just give me the actual date!!"
Anyway, I'm turning up to everything I'm meant to at the moment, so something is sinking into the grey matter. There is some space left in there!
On Monday night, we had our final Board meeting for the year - this is always a great one - the celebration of all that has been and what outcomes the children have achieved in 2024 against our targets. Teaching teams share their bright spots, challenges and opportunities, Literacy and Maths were highlighted, Positive Education is always a big feature - every aspect of the Flourish model, Te Ao Māori in focus ....... and, what I can say is, this lot do not rest on any laurels!
I talked about our accelerated achievement at last year's WRAP and, let's just say, I may not know the week but I know how we have even raised the bar further, higher, bigger and brighter over 2024! It's quite something! Tremendous.
Thank you for your efforts with fundraising. Alongside other priorities to provide a rich and broad curriculum and keep our staffing at an advantageous ratio, we can once again support a part-time Librarian in 2025 and continue to build the collection. In fact, the Library reopening after the building work has been a highlight for many children and enriched their reading choices no end. It's highly valued.
Next week is apparently Week 9! So this is the penultimate Newsletter. I sneak that word in when I can, love it! This means another full week of action and then the final Newsletter for 2024. Eek. The pressure is high and the temperature hot to make sure all info you need is in there.
Then it's Week 10...... a half week and a half day but it will be with a full heart.
